How Does Adapted Holiday Works?
Everyone knows what to expect from a classic holiday package—but these don’t always work for people with diverse accessibility needs. So, what does a completely tailored holiday look like?
Of course, this will be different for everyone, but here’s an example of what your trip might look like:
Before You Arrive
- You get in touch with us.
- We plan your trip together, discussing your abilities and accessibility requirements to ensure a perfect fit.
- You book your accessible flights (optionally with
Paula’s assistance—see above).

Day 1: Arrival
- Travel to Lanzarote (optional airport accessibility service available, plus a flight companion for UK departures)
- Our team welcomes you at Lanzarote Airport in Arrecife with a wheelchair-accessible vehicle and any equipment you may have pre-booked. If you don’t want to bring your own power wheelchair, you can hire one for your entire stay
- We take you to your adapted accommodation and ensure you have everything you need. You’ll also have our contact number for any assistance
- Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to explore Puerto del Carmen and enjoy a sunset dinner
Day 2: Beach Day
- Most of our adapted accommodations are in or around Puerto del Carmen, a flat area with one of Lanzarote’s best microclimates, featuring accessible beaches, plenty of shops, restaurants, and pharmacies
- Visit Los Pocillos, the most stunning fully accessible beach on the island

Day 3: Island Tour + Wine Tasting
- Our team picks you up in an accessible vehicle for a bespoke island tour, ensuring full accessibility wherever we go
- Fancy a treat? Enjoy a private or group wine tasting, sampling up to seven local Lanzarote wines
Day 4: Adapted Surf Kayaking or Adapted Scuba Diving
- Love the water? Try adapted surf kayaking or adapted scuba diving, both safe, fun, and fully accessible for wheelchair users
- Includes transport and snacks

Day 5: Bees, Horse Riding, or Camel Feeding
- Exclusive Bee Hive Visit: Discover the Canarian Black Bee, see a hive up close (with a full protective suit), and taste different honeys. Note: This activity is not fully wheelchair-accessible and does not have an accessible toilet
- Horse Riding or Camel Feeding: Prefer furry friends? Enjoy an adapted horse-riding session or spend time feeding camels
Day 6: Adapted Paragliding or Timanfaya National Park
- Adapted Paragliding: Soar above Lanzarote’s landscapes in a special tandem harness, with full assistance from expert instructors
- Timanfaya National Park: If you prefer to stay on solid ground, explore the park’s otherworldly volcanic landscapes. Enjoy a geothermal BBQ, witness real geysers, and take the fully accessible 45-minute Luna Tour through the volcanoes

Day 7: Departure
- Our team assists with check-out and airport transfers
- A warm See you soon before the airport accessibility team takes over
Special Sensory Programme for Visually Impaired Travellers

We offer tailored experiences for blind and visually impaired guests, focusing on engaging the senses beyond sight. Explore our unique Sensory Programme with a sample itinerary.
Caring for Your Carer (or Caring Family Members)
We understand that carers and family members also need time to relax and recharge.
- Respite care available: Our professional team can step in, allowing carers or family members to enjoy personal time.
- Pampering for carers: Special relaxation sessions, including massages, to show appreciation for their care and dedication.
- Flexible options: Join our accessible group tours while your loved ones enjoy their own activities—or plan your time together.

Accommodation & Location
We have carefully selected Puerto del Carmen as our primary location due to its flat terrain, accessible infrastructure, and proximity to Los Pocillos Beach.
Your accommodation will be tailored to your needs, whether that means:
- Roll-in showers
- Step-free access for visually impaired guests
- Family-friendly apartments
- Pool lifts and accessible pool areas
Choose between self-catering apartments or hotels with half-board or full-board options.
Finally, we put in place a process to assess the requirements of each holidaymaker before they book with us. This helps us to provide solutions that meet their needs and make their holiday an unforgettable experience.
